About Kim

Kim Burton is a 20 year old vocalist from Christchurch, New Zealand. She has loved singing from a young age, but only began to pursue it as she reached high school. Her first performances began, taking part in school productions and events. Beginning weekly private vocal training, she then began to learn to play guitar to complement her singing. Through vocal training she was given opportunities to sing at local markets, bars and restaurants, which she grasped with both hands.

Her love of music is spread widely across genres, from Soul to Pop to Rock to Hip-Hop. She loves to put her own spin on songs, from Johnny Cash to Eva Cassidy.
 
When she started university, Kim had to put singing on hold, but has picked it back up, taking vocal lessons at Voodoo Music Studio while still studying. Several years later, this has led her to release her first single 'Lingering Goodbye,' written by Ryan Neville and recorded at Voodoo Music Studio. The song is dedicated to, and funded by her late uncle.
